PANIC ATTACK!

What a day. First of all, I have started my thesis study. It involves the role of identity and story telling on facebook. I am really enjoying the research so far. It is fun! Actually rethinking my decision to say absolutely NO to a Ph.D. 

Pip and I had speech class to work on her F sounds. She is acing the class, my little trooper! We get to play games while we practice saying flash cards with the F sound. We have so much fun. She has the most amazing sense of humour and loves to play the games. Her little eyes light up so brightly as we play. What can I say, I adore my little Pippi!

Tabs had a dentist appointment this orning and received an A+ check up.

I helped Mist edit her English paper early this morning. Teachers are such sticklers for the final edit that she definitely needs my help proofing her work. It's a piece of cake for me because I edit my own novel daily.

Now for the fun stuff...PANIC ATTACK! I never learn. Today I booked a simple facial peel for myself. The idea is that it keeps my skin fresh and will prevent anymore adult acne cysts from ever coming back. I once had a citrus facial peel about six years ago and all went well. So, this afternoon she(skin hygienist) puts on the eye gauze, applies the acid--all is well, it hardly burns at all, just a little itchy. And suddenly it hits me: I feel like I'm going to faint. My eyes are covered, goop is on my face, I'm lying down in a dentist like chair and I feel like my blood pressure has hit bottom. I tell the nurse, "I feel like I'm going to faint. I think I might be having a panic attack." She tipped the chair back but I still felt horrid. "Please just take it all of my face," I said. All I wanted was to sit up and stabilize my blood pressure so I wouldn't feel like passing out. She removed the acid with the neutralizer, brought me a glass of water. I recovered. "Did I wreck it all?" I asked. Yes, yes I had as a matter of fact. No peel, no charge. After she tested my bp and oxygen, I drove myself home. Never to dare subject myself to any more beauty treatments ever! I am not built for such things. I am sensitive to everything it seems.I hate doctor offices, hospitals, skin care centers but surprisingly the dentist doesn't faze me at all. And I've have had it all at the dentist. Perhaps my childhood lengthy hospital stays and kidney operation finished me emotionally for any more "procedures."

I am happy to be home, far away from that nasty beauty treatment place.
